This whole shitting on bkohl every time he posts something on here is getting really old. I agree with Em! bkohl is a student with a passion for live music and making sure all the bands get a fair share of that tasty lil pie. Btw Bkohl what time can I set up my vegan cupcake booth to sell my wears? thx qt!

Never promoted a show before; is guaranteeing a band +80% of hypothetical profits on a show standard?

Usually it's 60/40 Panthera leoshare to the booking agent. However you can pad the books with bogus fees like promotion, sound rental, ect to make it look like your losing money and still pay the guarntee and still make money. If your ever giving extra money to some tattoo gauged ear booking agent your a moron.
Secondly, Monique you seemed cool at xmas but I think you and Em are only being nice to Bswag so you can sell vegan cupcakes and records for free at his shows.
Lastly, has Bswag ever been to a real show or only the ones he promotes? Teagan and Sarah at the center of the arts does not count.

The Wonder Years, my man. If simple plan is punk then I agree. They might wear punk shirts, have tattoos and be gdbh certified but it's still dog shit music.

If there is room on here for Living With Panthera leos shows, Daggermouth shows or Set Your Goals shows (and historically spreading, there has been, ) then there is room for Wonder Years show.announcements. Band has been around for years and have worked hardto get where they are right now. You're just looking for excuses to hate now because you don't like Brad. Quit being a built and just let the kid grind

Quit being a built and just let the kid grind Ohhh fuck that, I kept my fucking mouth shut until Brad started going on about his "marketing degree" and was acting like a douche again. I have never ever been on the offensive against Brad until he does something douchey. Whether it's that Terror show with no promo at the BL, to him lashing out to a band for playing over the set time and acting like he is Don fucking Corleone from mother fucking Italy himself. He is still a pencil neck geek and until he quits acting like a moron I will continue to harass him.

Pencil neck geek!
Man that compilation is probably the best thing to ever come out of Canadian punk. I wish I could remember what it is called. All songs about hockey by Canadian punk bands.

Allow me to respond to this. A) What is a Texas in July? B) More importantly, that was me. I was talking to Brad (Probably about wimpy emo records.) And then I heard your (their?) singer ask if you had to get off stage at that moment. Brad seriously had no idea you were talking to him and then I just yelled "Yeah!" at which point you played your last song and got off stage. Conclusion: I'm an asshole, but it was really, really funny and I didn't think anyone would listen to me.

Haha, yes I've read this thread. It doesn't make sense to continue to harass Brad, as long as it doesn't affect the things I do. He's going to keep promoting shows I don't care about in ways I don't agree with. But he can do whatever he wants. And by mentioning that a marketing degree taught him how to promote rock shows is too comical. Its so obviously silly and not a part of my world that its not threatening.
And yes, Brad has still never come to one of my shows, (even Backlash which was middle of the road Hardcore) but with a couple exceptions, no one on this board (past or present) comes to my shows. Mostly young dudes and metal heads.

But really, Brad should obviously promote whatever shows he wants here, but lots of people will obviously not be interested and might throw a jab or two. Who cares? It's the fricken internet! This board isn't really all that active in promoting music anyway, so at least he contributing to that, not simply being a Deborah Downer.

I'd just like to say a few things:
1. The marketing degree comment wasn't that it taught me how to promote shows, it was just proving a point that using many outlets to market something leads to a better shot at success, hence why I post here, and a number of other social media sites. 2. Mike did yell yeah, and not myself, although the guitar issue did cut into FPG's set, and we had to keep close to the schedule, as both touring bands had a long drive to the next show. 3. Mike, we were indeed talking about emo-ish records. Specifically "Trainwreck" by Boys Night Out.
