derek wu bought the legion's bar (i mean like the physical bar, the wood thing you sit and drink at) in an auction, i wonder if he's involved When I heard about this, the very first thing I did was asked if D Wu was involved. The answer is no, it's not. With that said, I am super stoked to see what Derek and his partners have in the works.

Mike, I'm trying to continue something that is coming to an end. Regardless of your view of the success of the company I hope you can support me in making this a great place for people and bands to come together. Night club or not the music scene you have spent so much time supporting needs this. Stating the exploitation of music you love when before you clearly say its non profitable regardless is contradictory. Anyone that has worked with me knows that I love and support this music scene with every dollar and ounce of effort I can spare. Regardless of you baking this or not everyone, and mike. Please understand I only aim to do everything I can to expand and be a part of the growth of something I've watched die for years. I love all types of music and am very open to what is offered. I'm just trying to make you all understand that diversification is a huge way of expanding the love we have. And the passion that radiates from the musicians I've seen in this city. Support and love would be appreciated. Lets have fun, be Tru to yourself or not I really don't give a fuck. But if you want to play at a sick venue or know bands need a show, I will put my time and effort into promoting and making it a great event.

Josh, we get all this passion stuff. Why don't you let us know WHO is the person behind this? There's nothing more sketchy than a club opening with an owner that can't be named.

Josh, we get all this passion stuff. Why don't you let us know WHO is the person behind this? There's nothing more sketchy than a club opening with an owner that can't be named. This is my whole thing. There should be nothing to hide, especially if you want to be involved in a community. And yeah, I do book/play shows around the city all the time, and it would be nice if there was another deadly place to hold shows. Let's just say, as usual in life, I'm equal parts skeptical and open minded. I'd try anything, play anywhere, give anything a shot in the name of expansion/diversity. But the way this came on the scene (re: the way the bomb was mysteriously dropped on this website of friends closely linked through Regina's music scene) makes me wary. There's also got to be reason's to go there: I'm not just going to book a show there so that you, Josh, make some money doing your job. I book where I think the show will be the best. Also Tru, this is not really the place to be threatening people. To say Good riddance to this board is akin to saying good riddance to a lot of credibility. I'd be interested in a real conversation with real people and real answers if I'm going to work with you.

ok ok ok I think i have figured out what is going on here. The Tru thing is real. The posts from Tru and Josh Schnell have to be by Dylan Williams. The spelling of Josh's posts are to good to come from Josh.
That being said..... This city does NOT need another music venue.... and if you think it does then you are out of touch with this city.

Also I was too lazy to even read that wall of text up there written by josh, I wouldnt be able to type it all out. I also have two jobs now! One is creating a drink menu for a palestian restaurant that moved to a new place with a solerium. I get my own garden and it has a 97% on urbanspoon. The other job is a tiki restaurant not yet opened. I feel like lou reed being hung in candy cane park for treason! I did not invent these accounts Attachments:

Darren is the manager and please justin, dylan, and whoever else come down and check it out and talk with him. Jeff, what do you want me to say? I guess im out of touch with the city.

Yeah I disagree with Jeff, another SPECIFIC kind of venue is needed. I went to a meeting of the Canadian Federation Of Musicians Regina chapter, and they said that in the 70's and 80's there would be at least 20 venues that would have live music on a single night, all venues and musicians would be paid well. Why this is more difficult to achieve today with more bands and less venues is odd, but I think it has a lot to do with competitiveness/capital and not community driving music in most cities.
But like, if I have a show that will sell more than 100 tickets, and the Exchange is booked, and its not folk/indie rock (aka suitable for CCC, AD, Artesian), what other option do I have. As of now, none.
Also keep in mind that when those three shitty venues opened up, we approached them about booking and were told that our styles were unwelcome. Now we've been approached and have been told that all are welcome. That's a great start. I think I'll try to go down and talk to someone when I have some free time.

Thank you Justin, I need support on this I think it's the best thing that could of ever fallen into my lap. I'm going to do everything I can to promote and recruit new people into the community. I was taking to the bass player from into eternity last night and he thinks it would be an interesting idea if his band played with "royal red brigade" or some other punk bands in the city. I've been in contact with some great bands already and I am excited for you all to see and hear how legit this space is.

Fusion may be a touchy subject for some but all in all I think certain people on both sides of the spectrum would injoy it. I was trying to do this kind of thing back with "schnell productions" and submerged underground and it seemed to be successful in providing a new experience for the audience. I'm going down to cjtr to talk to kieth about getting my show back as well. I'm definitely out of touch with the city considering I haven't lived here for a while. All I can do is make connections and that is what I'm trying to do now. As for the spelling, my i phone has spell check.
